A clear place to start

The Hospitality
Performance Review.

I bring your trading information together, explain what it shows and turn the findings into a short, prioritised action plan.

£150One-off founding-client fee
for an agreed project
  • A focused review of your existing records.
  • A concise report, normally with 3–5 useful findings.
  • Practical priorities: what to check, test or change.
  • A 60–90-minute conversation to work through it.
  • A follow-up around 30 days later.

An introductory fee while I establish the service. We check a sample of your records and agree the scope, timing and fee before you commit.

Useful findings, or no review fee.

If the agreed information produces no meaningful evidence-based findings or practical areas worth investigating, the £150 fee is waived or refunded. This is not a promise of financial results. Read the fee arrangement.

The decisions behind the figures

A busy business can still
leave you with questions.

01

What’s left after the costs?

Bring sales, product costs, waste and discounts together to understand what your food and drink offer contributes.

02

Does the working week add up?

Compare sales and staff hours by day and service, including the work before and after opening.

03

Is the next idea worth trying?

Test the assumptions behind a menu change, event or different opening hours before committing.

Your customers, staff and the character of your venue matter. The figures need to make sense in that context.

A bit about Joe

Independent places
are worth looking after.

Holmes Chapel, Cheshire

I started Third Place Advisory because these places matter — to their owners, their teams and the people who spend time in them.

My background includes range analysis for a major UK supermarket, looking at sales, pricing and product decisions. I’ve also spent around four years in café and restaurant service roles.

You bring the knowledge of your venue. I bring the time and analytical experience to work through the numbers with you.

More about my background

A few things
you might be wondering.

What if my records are untidy?

That’s fine to discuss at the first call. I check a small sample before confirming the review. If substantial preparation is needed, I explain it and agree any additional work before you commit.

How does this fit with my accountant?

I focus on everyday commercial decisions: food and drink sales, pricing, staffing and trading patterns. Your accountant handles accounts and tax. We can identify where this would add something useful to the support you already have.

Do I have to sign up for ongoing support?

No. The review is a one-off piece of work. Monthly or quarterly support is available separately if you want a regular view of your trading.

I’m not an accountant, and I don’t guarantee business results. This is commercial analysis to help you make informed decisions.
